Legislation

Anyone involved in management of premises, staff or work on properties has a duty-of-care to protect themselves and those around them from exposure to asbestos fibres under asbestos legislation.

General duty of care for health, safety and welfare are covered within The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999. Specific duties concerning asbestos are covered within the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
